Christie is a hugely popular NewYork-based auction house and has the reputation to hold some of the most widely known auctions for prominent art collectibles.  Artist Benjamin Gentilli yet another renowned name in the art circles has apparently spent 3 years top handcraft 40 Bitcoin related art pieces. Christie is scheduled to host the auction of Block 21, the first public piece of a Bitcoin-based artwork in a collection known as ‘portraits of a mind’

The above-mentioned auction is considered to be the first-ever auction of Non-fungible tokens at a place as renowned as Christie’s. The art pieces in question is an all-inclusive art piece that capsulizes the portrait of Satoshi Nakamoto. The artist in the art form has focused on the results of Nakamoto’s life.

Post-war and contemporary art specialist Vivian Brodie also has a say about the Block 21 auction at Christie’s:

“Christie’s and I are thrilled to be supporting this landmark blockchain art project with the sale of Block 21 from Portraits of a Mind in our October Day Sale in New York. This is Christie’s first time presenting a work that explores crypto culture at auction and, as ever, we are very excited to welcome new audiences and collecting communities across the globe to Christie’s.”

The 40 dish-shaped piece of art was created by Robert Alice and it took a good three years to do this. The art piece is roughly 50 inches in diameter and it is also specially layered with suspended pigment and acrylic. Each of it is intricately designed and has close to 322,048 hand inscribed lines of Bitcoin;s first version release which is known as v0.1.0.

There is an increasing interest in such art forms worldwide and this is perhaps the first time that the auction is getting such a nation-wide yardage. The 22’nd piece like its other pieces holds extreme importance and showcases the best forms of art. The prior 21 pieces in the same collection already stand sold. Art connoisseurs from different corners of the world tracked the auction of these art pieces and added it to their collection. It was a maximum of one painting per collector. The names of the collectors include some high-profile personalities also including CMT Digital, Changpeng Zhao, Jehan Chu, Matthew Roszak, Paul Gordon, Shaun Djie, Seoul Auction Blue, and Robert Alice.

Starting October 1st the display of the artwork will begin at Christie’s exhibition gallery for 6 days before being auctioned off to the lucky collector. As per the reports, the beginning price estimate quotes a figure between $12,000 to $18,000 for the disc.
