Ethereum is the second largest crypto in the world after Bitcoin. In recent days, the price of Ethereum has surged, which has delighted its supporters starting with its creator Vitalik Buterin.

Ethereum’s price is doing well in 2021. Since the beginning of 2021, ETH has quadrupled in value! The last few days have seen an even more dramatic rise. Ethereum was trading for about $2,700 on April 28, 2021. On May 4, 2021, its price now stands at around $3,500, an increase of more than 350% in 7 days! At the same time, the value of Bitcoin was stagnating between $50,000 and $60,000. Ethereum is therefore the cryptocurrency in form of the moment!

Vitalik Buterin is among the developers behind Ethereum in 2015. Since 2018, he logically holds a significant portfolio in Ether. According to the data, Vitalik Buterin holds 333,500 ETH. With the recent Ethereum boom, the valuation of his portfolio would have exceeded $1 billion! At 27, Vitalik Buterin becomes the youngest billionaire in the crypto industry!

With such performance, some analysts believe that Ethereum is on its way to overshadow Bitcoin, or even supplant it. It’s true that Ethereum covers a much wider range of applications than Bitcoin by being the queen blockchain of DeFi. In addition, Ethereum has also opened up to the very lucrative field of digital art or NFT. Ethereum is therefore meeting a massive adhesion in recent months. It is estimated that more than 7 million new ETH addresses have been created in the first 4 months of 2021.

Some specialists such as Nigel Green, CEO of deVere Group, believe that the recent Ethereum boom is just the beginning and expect Ethereum to reach $5,000 before mid-May 2021. This view is shared by other significant crypto players such as Pantera Capital CEO Dan Morehead, who envisions a six-figure Ethereum by 2030.

“The boom of the last few months comes from growing interest from major institutional investors and by the increasing recognition that borderless digital currencies represent the future of money (…) This momentum is likely to build in the near term and I think Ether will hit $5,000 within seven days” said Nigel Green, CEO of deVere.
